 Halsey reflects on Farmington, prepares for San Antonio
(3-29-2008) STREET, MD – Back home at his northeastern Maryland residence, Jim Halsey reflects on his visit to the Tar Heel state, where he won an event that won't be soon forgotten. In what is becoming the most publicized 1/8 mile final round in recent memory, Halsey, along with local star "Tricky" Rickie Smith put on a side by side 3 second show at Farmington Dragway while competing in the original heads-up doorslammers club, Don Plemmon's Quick 8 Racers Association.

 Halsey takes Quick 8 win at The Farm
(3-23-2008) MOCKSVILLE, NC – The first Quick 8 race of 2008 kicked off with a big bang at Farmington Dragway. Records fell when Jim Halsey and Rickie Smith both ran in the 3 second zone in the final.
After the first round of qualifying we saw a familiar red '63 Corvette driven by "Tricky" Rickie Smith at the top of the chart with an outstanding 3.98 at 187.01. The closest competition in the first round was eventual winner Jim Halsey in his Gene Fulton powered '68 Camaro with a 4.057 at 185.29. After the first round came to an end the quickest 8 were Rickie Smith, Jim Halsey, Steve Vick, Randy Weatherford, Thomas Dunford, Dale Brinsfield, Buzz Varner and Todd Howard.
